New York State annual report on state birds for 1909 (was released to NYS legislature in 1910 and published in 1911). Mostly a massive research report for those concerned with bird conservation but, in addition to numerous charts, graphs, and b/w photos, features a section of 42 spectacular full-page tissue-protected color illustrations by ornithologist and artist, Louis Agassiz Fuertes (1874 - 1927). All color plates are present! Massive book - well over 500 pages (the plates section and a section recording all bird sitings for 1909) are not paginated.

Bound in dark green ruled cloth boards with gilt-stamped titles. 11.75" x 9.5" x 2.5". Heavy ~20 lbs.
