Dutch and Flemish Woodcuts of the Fifteenth Century London: Ernest Benn LTD., 1925 Impossible to find the limited edition these days as there were only 20 made - this is #6 and includes the separate folio of extra plates which accompany only the limited edition (please note: the plates are also present in the book at the rear). The book itself starts with 60 pages of the history of 15th century Dutch and Flemish woodcuts, then includes an incunabula (list of works), an index, a catalogue of plates, the plates themselves, and then an illustrated appendix. The folio contains loose copies of all the plates in the book.
Bound in blown leather leather boards with gilt-stamped titles (folio in buckram covers). 80 woodcut plates + 3 more from the appendix (same in separate folio). 13" x 9.5". |
