Rare 1871 deluxe publication comprised of a history of Baltimore followed by a biographical section with sixty-one tissue-protected photographic or engraved portraits of prominent Baltimoreans with the facsimile signatures (only available in th deluxe edition). E. A. Poe is included in the book but unfortunately his portrait is missing.
10.75" x 7". 562 pages. Deluxe beveled black pebbled leather with elaborate gilt edging and decoratives. Gilt page edges all around. Marbled end papers.
Extremely rare piece of Baltimore history - could only find 3 others listed on the rare book sites and for considerably more than my asking price!
