An account of five months traveling in America in 1869, written by a British Captain in the Life Guards. Primarily focuses on hunting (e.g.; buffalo) as well as encounters with native Americans. Also includes observations of New York society, Washington D.C., Salt Lake City, Boston, San Francisco, and a harrowing trans-Atlantic journey back to England. Appendix includes a list of animals hunted.
