Near fine, bright and sharp interior bound in stiff cardstock covers, in hand-painted tissue dust wrapper. The delicate wrapper, cleverly folded over and affixed to inside covers, shows the expected tanning, a substantial piece missing from the upper spine, and a chip to the lower spine.

A fictionalized account of the poet/playwright's affair with George Sand. Here in the original French, in a stylish edition with exquisite deco-ish watercolor illustrations by Robert-Pollack, hand-painted on tissue and mounted on card-stock inserts.
