"McCormick was a prolific writer of sports stories covering all kinds of sports. His main characters were Bronc Burnett (twenty-seven books) and Rocky McCune (sixteen). In this, sixteen-year-old Bronc must conquer rabbit ears and find his place as a pitcher on the Sonora High team, leading it to a league championship."--McCue.
