POLLY'S BUSINESS VENTURE

by Lillian Elizabeth Roy

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, Publishers,(1922).

First edition EARLY printing.

This fifth installment in the Polly Brewster series contains only four previous Polly titles printed to the title page, but lists nine Polly titles to a rear advertisement page.

Elegant dust jacket art and four action scene illustrations on black-and-white plates by H.S. Barbour.

A suspenseful Polly installment that centers on Polly traveling the country, buying curios and antiques for her new business venture.

Polly delays her answer to a marriage proposal, for two years, in hopes that her boyfriend "will leave her in peace" while she creates her business.

A hint of rubbing to the lower shelf-edges, else very nearly fine in blue linen with black and golden-tan embossed titles and decorations to the front cover, and with black embossed titles to the spine; in a near fine lightly rubbed dust jacket with a short, unobtrusive tear to the lower spine end.

An especially nicely preserved collectible in dust jacket.

Octavo; 301 pages; plus ten pages of ads.
