Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1930's newspaper-themed comedy/drama mystery romance, BACK IN CIRCULATION, released in 1937 by First National Pictures and directed by Ray Enright. Morning Express ace reporter 'Timmy' Blake uses her wiles and charms to get the scoop on rival papers, and keep her editor happy. When the Express gets a tip that a wealthy old man was poisoned and 'Timmy' spots the young widow in a nightclub only a day later, she descends on the town where the death took place to dig out the facts. When her reporting results in the arrest of the young widow, 'Timmy' continues to dig, since she isn't quite convinced that the facts she reported cover all the angles. The image depicts an interior scene inside of a jail cell as ace reporter "Timmy" Blake (Joan Blondell) happily greets Dr. Eugene Forde (John Litel) while the accused, Arline Wade (Margaret Lindsay), sits patiently at the table nearby and a matron (Mira McKinney) watches the room. It is in fine+ condition with a light 1.25 in. horizontal crease in the bottom left corner in the borders and very light signs of wear on the tips of the other three corners. |
