Schaefer Beer was founded in 1838 in NYC by two brothers who came to the US from Germany. In 1981 Stoh's bought them and then it was owned by Pabst in 1999. Pabst still brews beer under the Schaefer label.  The opener is makred from Handy Walden, NYC, and states "America's Oldest Lager Beer" on the underside.  It is 3 3/4 inches long. It is in fairly good shape with just a couple of small rust spots.
