VINTAGE, ORIGINAL 1982 POSTER ~ WARNER BROTHERS DIVE INTO LIVE
Estate Sale find, check the pictures over, they are part of the description, too - I've uploaded as many varied views as possible.
What the heck is it? It's an original, dated, 1982 promotional poster, proclaiming the arrival of a Warner Brothers VHS / Betamax release, which appears to be a compilation of a disparate collection of musical bands and artists, from across the musical globe, made thoroughly early '80's by the undisputed style of the colors, graphics, layout and the enjoyably bizarre, somewhat androgynous character following the invocation to dive, by launching determinedly into the Sony Trinitron screen...
Plenty of names from the era, and decade before, too - all genres of music accounted for, Grateful Dead, Devo, Gary Numan, Melissa Manchester, The Doors, Gino Vanelli, a generic listing of Woodstock, plus all the others...the VHS itself seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth, extensive Googling resulting in a big fat zip...
All in all, it couldn't be more 1980's if it tried.
Artwork by Marco DePlano.
In very good condition overall, with only minimal signs of its age, and it was found, laid flat between some other posters, so there are no creases, no pin fixing holes, no glue residue from Fun Tack / Tack It / Blu Tack, or whatever it is known by in your neck of the woods..
Please view the 12 pictures uploaded for more specifics about the condition - the light storage surface wear can be seen here and there, as you would expect in any flat stored nigh-on 40 year old poster, and along the top edge there is a 1/2" (12mm) tear, which has been highlighted in one of the pictures. Be fair, none of us are in the same condition we were in 1982...
