THE STREISAND SPECIALS: COLOR ME BARBRA
Follow-up to 1965's "My Name Is Barbra", and shot in brilliant color, "Color Me Barbra" has La Streisand alternating nostalgia, clowning comedy, feminine romantic angst, and beguiling seriousness for a crazy-quilt hour of show-biz razzle dazzle. She's a cut-up and a femme fatale, a sprite and an enigma. With her Egyptian eye make-up and ever-changing hairstyles, she's also a chameleon. Her voice is rich and moving.
This Laser Disc does appear to be a 'cut-out' with slight corner sleeve cut,
but at least it has Never Been Played, and is Still Sealed!
Another one that I Just Had to Have...but Never Opened it!
That was the thing about the period, when VHS tapes were dying out,
and The Next Big Thing--Laser Discs--were New and Shiny!
We all wanted to Own our favorite films, on The Format of The Future!
(Boy...were We Ever Suckered!? Into Spending Thousands of Dollars!!!!)
This Laser Disc is UNOPENED! I am clearing out my huge collection of Laser Discs,
many of them Unopened!
At the time, they were all Very Expensive, so I am trying Not to think about the money
that I spent back then!! It's time to let them go, and let someone Enjoy them!
AND...AS A VERY SPECIAL GIFT...I AM INCLUDING A GORGEOUS COLOR COPY OF MY INVITATION TO THE SCREENING PARTY OF "A STAR IS BORN"!! I'VE SAVED IT SINCE 1976, WHEN I WORKED ON THE FILM...AND SCANNED IT, AS IT IS GETTING FRAGILE! BUT WHAT AN INCREDIBLE TREASURE!
(For those who incredulously ask me...No, these are Not DVDs! Laser Discs are from the 1990s,
and are 12" in diameter and require a Laser Disc Player to view!)
