This item was made at one of the nursing homes in my area.  From the size the activities director said these were made for lap blankets for the residence.  They were made by some of the volunteers at the nursing home and by some of the residence as part of the activities program.  The material feels like cotton...I am not a quilter or know about any kind of material … the backing is also cotton.  The quilt has varying sizes that are pieced together.  The backing on this quilt is soft pink.  Because it was not only made in the nursing home … it was used at the nursing home.  The home washed all their items on site so you know the quilt was washed to state code.  If it was going to shrink it already did.  The knots tied and 4 ends to the strings.  The quilt looked good to me...none of the seams are opened up.  I did see some seams that were doubled over...but considering this was made by anyone of the residence...who some of them are in their 90's/80's who still can do this work.  I am selling this quilt as is.  Don't be limited to this only being a lap quilt/blanket....it could easily be for a baby wrap or in the crib.  Just think how warm this quilt would be.  Look at the photos for the design and layout.
