Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the popular 1960's sci-fi comedy thriller, MATCHLESS, released in 1967 by United Artists and directed by Alberto Lattauda. A secret agent (Patrick O'Neal) possesses a ring that makes him invisible for a short time, once every 10 hours. He is in pursuit of an evil criminal mastermind but, at the same time, must evade an enemy agent who also wants the ring. The cast includes Ira Von Furstenberg, Donald Pleasence, Henry Silva, and Nicoletta Machiavelli.

The image features a medium shoot of a cool and calm Perry "Matchless" Liston (Patrick O'Neal) locked inside of a bank vault in preparing of blasting his way into a safe deposit box. Fun gay interest with this one, as he is shirtless in a beefcake shot. Affixed to the bottom of the verso is the original paper snipe caption that describes the image as well as a rubber stamp noting that this film is COMING 1st RUN TO NEIGHBORHOODS with a date stamp of SEP 20 1968. It is in fine+ condition with some small scattered creases simply from handling over time. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, writing, or other flaws.

The title, Matchless, is a play on "Flint" from Our Man Flint. The Flint films were spoofs of the Bond films, which many argue were spoofs of the Bond novels, which themselves were spoofs of the prevailing spy thrillers of their day. So this film is essentially a spoof of a spoof of a spoof of a spoof.
