Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1950's musical comedy romance, ON MOONLIGHT BAY, released in 1951 by Warner Bros. and directed by Roy Del Ruth. During World War I, a teenage girl (Doris Day) begins a romance with a college student (Gordon MacRae), but his unconventional attitudes cause friction with her father (Leon Ames).

The image features the film's main cast members which include Rosemary DeCamp, Doris Day, Leon Ames, and Gordon MacRae, all wearing period attire. It is in near-fine condition with random creases in three of the borders and just a few in the image area simply from handling over time.

On Moonlight Bay was based on Booth Tarkington's Penrod stories. It proved to be so popular that the studio immediately filmed By the Light of the Silvery Moon (1953), which is a direct sequel with all the actors playing the same characters. This was very unusual at the time. The success of this film helped catapult Doris Day into the Top Ten Box Office Stars list for 1951. She would make the list nine more times, ascending to the #1 position by the early 1960s.
