I loved these Chrysoberyl the moment I saw them -such a lovely soft gray-green, with subtle striations, lovely faceting, and fantastic polish - hard to find in this gorgeous color! Many stones have additional darker striations or inclusions on one side, which can be oriented towards the back if desired.

I wanted something a little bit different, so I wrapped it in oxidized & polished sterling, to a lovely detailed twisted sterling jump ring, also oxidized & polished. This pendant looks great with either an oxidized oval link chain, or with a bright sterling box chain (photo 1).

Chyrsoberyl is also known as Cat's Eye, though these particular gems do not have a distinct cat's eye, they do have a nice sheen! It is a very hard gemstone, at 8.5 on the Mohs scale, not quite as hard as sapphire or ruby.
