I noticed that comments made on a handpicked list include a “vote up” or “vote down” option. What is the purpose of these options, or what happens if I click on one of them?

Usually voting down is used when the answer to a question is incorrect, not quite correct…or when people spam the answers with non related posts
Voting up means that other sellers agree that it is probably the best answer given to a question

You don’t have to have a Ph.D. in a subject to answer a question, but please ensure to the best of your ability that your answer is accurate. Include supporting links to back up your position when possible. Community members will vote on your answer. If your response gets the most votes, Bonanza’s system will remember you as a trusted resource.
Is there a limit to the number of questions I can ask or answer?
No, there is no limit.
Do I have to be registered on Bonanza to ask or answer a question?
Yes, but you’re only four fields away from being a part of our community.
Can I vote for an answer more than once?
No, you can only vote one time.
Can I change my vote?
Currently, you must stick to your first vote. Depending on the popularity of this request, we may soon allow users to change their vote from one answer to another.

I think everyone got her question wrong in their head. She’s asking about the ‘vote up’ on the HPLs.
