This item is a very nice glass framed shadowbox measuring 15 X12 x 3 inches previously used to display some 1/144 scale built up model airplane kits. They have been carefully stored indoors and are "Like New" all things considered.
It has a removable back made of fiberboard with hanging hardware, and the movable metal tabs that hold it in place in the frame.
The models were mounted on a piece of foam core board covered with the green felt using Elmer's Glue.
If you choose to use fine wire to hold your collectibles in place, a "T" craft pin is recommended which will make it easy to make the holes in the foam core board to pass the wire through, and then twist on the back side of the foam core display board.
The glue made places in the felt. The nature of the felt is such that you can use a stiff bristle brush and "pull up" and brush over the fuzziness and conceal the places for the most part; and the felt can easily be removed and replaced with either new felt or some other material if it suits you.
The black backing board on this shadowbox is easily removed and replaced throughout it's service life, so you can change things around and add new items with ease.
We have a number of these, most of them like this one, but we also have some different sizes. Some are deeper than others.
Note: This shadowbox has a sliding panel in one end. See the pictures. This might allow you to add or remove items without having to take the back off. If you place the sliding piece facing UP, you can pour in materials like corn kernels and diferent kinds of seeds and nuts etc in layers.This is the only shadowbox we have that has this sliding piece.
So if you have a big collection of something, [they work great for 1/144 scale model airplanes] and want some uniformity in your displays, you've come to the right place.
